*OnE dOwN, oNe To Go*

Ciao! Last night we all went to Golden View again. I got 4 cheese pasta and pizza (you get two main dishes with the meal voucher). I purposely got pizza so I could take it home and eat it for lunch today. I don't know if I mentioned this, but when you order pizza here it isn't just a slice for one person...it is about 8 slices per person! A lot of pizza...but all the crust is thin. Anyways, after another marvelous dinner, my roomies and I went to our friends apartment and watched "When in Rome" with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson. We wanted to watch it to get ready for Rome...I know we are sooo silly. We are going out tonight, so we decided to take it east last night since we all had finals today.

Today I first has sociology. I am a little annoyed because I have sociology on fridays and my teacher chose to have the final start at 11 am...right in the middle of the day...our LAST day at that, in Florence. It is a little frustrating but what can I do? So, today we reviewed for our final for tomorrow and then at 12:30 I had my art history final...a piece of cake! Now I am in the computer lab and I going to go finish up my souvenir shopping before walking to the Duomo for a beautiful view of the city. Then, for dinner we are trying a new restaurant before going out! Then, I have to pack and study a little, too. Busy girl and getting kind of sad to leave the great, GREAT friends I have made. That's life!

Ciao until tomorrow!!! Love and miss you all...5 days!

Hey everyone...only a couple of posts left! Yesterday was a rough day for me...I got really sick. I think it MIGHT have been from the tap water I had yesterday at the apartment, but I could be wrong. Anyways...I was in bed until yesterday afternoon like I said. Last night I got really lucky! AIFS offers a lot of activities such as food tastings and cooking lessons that you can sign up for, but unfortunately everything was booked that I wanted to do. However, last night my roommates signed up for cooking lessons on how to make ravioli and stuffed zuccini. So, I decided to go with them and see if someone didn't show up so I could take their place. Well, everyone showed, but they let me do it, and even for FREE! The food was awesome and I have all the recipes so maybe we can try it when I get home. I kept getting sick through the cooking and ended my night early to get better. We didn't get done with cooking until around 10 pm.

This morning I only had one class, and we reviewed for my final tomorrow! It has gone by way too fast! We got out of class early, so my friends and I went to eat at a panini place before heading out to get some last minute things. I decided a while back that my "one thing" was going to be an Italian Leather purse. After weeks of searching for the right one, I finally got it! Even though it could have been a lot more expensive, I feel like I got a really good deal. I had to call mom and talk to her about it because I am sooo hesitant on buying things for myself. But what's done is done! Now I feel like I have a hole in my pocket! Tonight I am going to dinner and then probably going out on the town!

Can't wait to see everyone! Ciao!

First of all, congratulations Drew on getting 1st place with your Rouche and 3rd with your Cobra...I think that is soo cool! Also, I am glad Ben, Julie, & Hannah made it home safely...can't wait to hear all about your trip.

So after I left the computer lab, I went home and talked to my roommate about her weekend. Three of my roommates traveled around the Capri area in Italy and they ran into train problems and didn't end up getting home until Monday morning at 6:30 (they planned on being back in the afternoon on Sunday!). So, I caught up with them and we were all just hanging out in my room getting ready for our farewell dinner. We left the apartment at 7:30 for the dinner at 8. The dinner was held on top of a hotel out on the terrace. It had such a great view of the city, so of course we all got some great pictures! The meal was good, too. We had ham, risotto and pasta, steak and vegetables, dessert, coffee, and if you could imagine how many wine bottles American college students to go through on an unlimited amount! After dinner, there was a DJ and we danced on the terrace. It got a little crazy..even the teachers were dancing up a storm! It was a lot of fun and a great way close up this experience. We all got home about 2:30 last night!

Today I had class...nothing too special. I start my final reviews tomorrow. My roommates and I were planning on climbing the Duomo at 3 today so get great pictures of the city, but it is raining, so we are going to head to the food market instead. It is all indoor with two huge levels! I am going to get some dried fruit...yuuummmm! I don't know what is going on for tonight, but I know we will all find something.

I will close until tomorrow! This is sad because I only have a few posts left before this amazing experience comes to an end. Love and miss you all!

*LaSt WeEkEnD iN fLoReNcE*

So, I guess I have a lot to talk about starting from Friday until today. I just can't believe that this trip has gone by so fast!

Friday I went to the beach in Viareggio. It was about an hour and a half bus ride. We could't take a train that day because the workers were on strike on Friday, so no trains were coming in or leaving Florence. We got to the beach around 11 o'clock. The weather was horrible for a while. It was soo cloudy, cold, and rainy. We decided to walk around the town and find some food and hoped that the weather would come around. Fortunately, the sun came out and we all were able to get in the water and get some sun. The beach itself was beautiful...the sand was soo clean and white, but the water was not as clear as Cinque Terre. We had a really nice time. We left the beach around 5 and got back home around 7. We had to change buses in the middle of our trip back. Then, I met some girls for dinner at Golden View (Yes, I know we all love that place), and then I went to bed...it was a very long day!

Saturday I had a field trip to Pisa, Torre Dei Lago, and Lucca. I was so excited to see the leaning tower of Pisa...it looked soo cool! That was the highlight of my trip for sure! So we were in Pisa for about an hour and then we went to visit Puccini's house (he was a famous Opera writer). That was kind of cool. Then we went to Lucca...to be honest I have not one clue why they took us there. It was a very French/Italian/American feel to it. It was a small place with very expensive, designer stores. We left around 6:30 and got home around 8. I went home really fast and went out to eat. After dinner, my friends and I walked around Florence because this weekend, it was a huge Holiday for Florence. It was the holiday of St. John the Baptist, so there were concerts everywhere, so many people on the street you couldn't walk, and tons of wine. We went back to the apartment at about 11:30 pm.

Sunday I had a little excursion to Fiesole, a little town about 15 minutes from Florence. It is a wealthy area where a lot of famous Italians live I guess. Anyways, Fiesole has the best view of the WHOLE city of Florence. So we took pictures of that, visited a little church, and then walked around the Roman ruins. That was really cool and I got some good pictures, too! Then we walked down a long, STEEP road to get to the restaurant we ate at for brunch. The food was okay; they didn't have anough for everyone...it was buffet-style. That was the only let-down. I arrived back in Florence around 3 and walked around the market before heading back to the apartment to take a nap. I woke up about 6:30 and met some friends for dinner. We then walked over to the bridge to watch the huge fireworks display at 10 o'clock for the holiday. The streets were full of people, and the fireworks display was awesome! I got some of it on video. Then, my friends and I went out for a little bit! We all feel stressed because there is still so much to do and so little time! In that mind-set, we went to a karaoke bar and sang a few songs...I might say it was an interesting night! We all got home around 1 am.

Today I had class as usual. We actually went to the church that I hiked to last wednesday at the top of Michaelangelo Piazza. That was quite a workout for the early morning, but that was my favorite church of all. Now I am in the computer lab, but tonight is the AIFS (my study abroad program) good-bye dinner. We meet at a hotel that overlooks the whole city at 8 tonight. We dress-up, have dinner, and then they are having a dance afterwards...it will be fun with 145 girls and 5 guys! Haha!!! I am sure we will all go out together after the farewell dinner, but I think it will be a lot of fun!

Well, that was a lot to read! The weather is getting sooo HOTTTTT! It is now miserable to be outside very long, and the apartment keeps getting hotter. Well I can't wait to see all you guys and hear your stories and to share mine! Love and miss you all!!! Ciao!

*CrAfTy KiDs*

Last night my roommates and I went to Danny Rock, an American-type restaurant. We all had a burger and fries. Then, for dessert we had crepes with bananas and chocolate poured all over it! It was soo yummy...I have never had crepes before either. Then after dinner, we went back to the apartment for the night. My roommates are in a painting class, so they wanted to work on their painting while hanging out. So, I thought I would join the fun and draw while talking and listening to music. It was actually really fun, and nice to be inside with the fan blowing on us.

This morning I have nothing to talk about because classes were soo boring today! It's ok to have those every once in a while. Tonight we are trying a new restaurant and then tons of people from my program are going to this big party. Don't know how it will be, but I wil try it out.

I will say good-bye until tomorrow! Ciao!

*SkIpPeR*

Last night I went to Salamanca, that amazing mexican restaurant with some friends. I don't know why I was so exhausted yesterday, but I came home from dinner, talked with the roommates and then went to bed. It was nice to just stay in.

Yesterday my friend and I decided to skip art history today so that we could hike to the top of Michaelangelo Piazza. I know I shouldn't skip, but this was the only day I could because I only have one class on Wednesdays and I have field trips this weekend so I have NO free days. Also, we get two absences so we took a tourist day :) Michaelangelo Piazza is the spot in Florence where you can see the whole city! And this was the first time I saw trees and flowers. In the city, it is just concrete and buildings. There is this beautiful church at the very tip top of the hill. It was so beautiful. I took so many pictures of beautiful Florence. Now, I finally get what people mean when they say Florence is one of the most beaufiful places you will ever see. After taking a bunch of pics, my friends and I went and ate lunch at this cafe over looking the city. It would definately be a place to visit if you wanted some romance ;) Then, after we got down from Michaelangelo, I went around some stores I have never looked at before. Many were very pricey, but it is fun to look.

Tonight I don't have anything specific planned. The heat almost makes you not want to go outside. You step out and you start sweating, and then you can never cool down because it feels and same inside as outside! Bummer! Oh well, I have to deal with it another week and a half!

Well that is it for now. I can't believe I don't have that much time left here-- it's bitter sweet! Love and miss you all! Ciao!

*ShOp 'TiL i DrOp*

Ok, now it is starting to get REALLY hot here in Florence. It is even worse when there is no such thing as air conditioning here- I atleast have a fan in my room, so that helps a tiny bit. I am now sweating 24-7 so I have stopped trying with the hair...it will be permanently curly from now on...ha!

Yesterday afternoon I shopped for a long time...I have many souvenirs to get! I love walking around and looking at all the different kinds of things here- in the stores and in the markets. I have been walking soo much I think my legs are stronger! ;) Then, last night I went to dinner with some friends and then moved spots throughout the night when we went out.

This morning I had class. In sociology we watched some clips about some holidays here in Italy that they celebrate. Then, in art history we went to see the Medici Chapels...it was beautiful and soo many historical people were burried there! We got out of class an hour early so my roommate, Leigh and I went to the market and looked around like always. After this, I am going home, take a little nap, pick-up my room, and then go to Salamanca for some good mexican food!

I hope you all had a lot of fun in St. Louis...maybe we could do that again so I can enjoy it with you all! I will sign off for now- love and miss you all! Ciao!

*VeNeNcIa*

Oh my, what a weekend!!! As you know I went to Venice, and I suggest everyone trying to get there in their lifetime. It is beautiful, romantic, and relaxing- it is definately a nice vacation spot.

Friday--- It was an early morning because we had to be at the train station at 8:30 am. The bus trip was good; it was about a 4 hour bus ride. Once we arrived in the Venice area, we had to take a fairy to get to the actual city. We sat in the front of the fairy to get the best view coming into the city...I love being on a boat! Once we got off the fairy we went straight to the hotel. The hotel rooms were a little different. I roomed with three of my roomies, and we had two twin beds and then a queen size in the middle. The very strange thing about this hotel was that some of the rooms didn't have a bathroom in the room; instead it was down the hall. We did have our own key so only we could use it, but it was a little awkward coming from the shower to the room! Enough about the room, after we got settled we met up with our tour guide and she took us to San Marco square (the only main square in Venice) where it had the most exquisite cathedral I have ever seen! I took a video of the square so everyone can see what it was like for me! Anyways, after the tour we walked around and scoped things out- while walking, we ran into the character Marlot from Nip Tuck...he was really nice and we got a picture with him. After that we went to dinner, and went back to the room to get ready for the night. My roomies and I went to Santa Margherita, where there is the only night-life in Venice. It was very laid back and nice to just hangout outside with friends.

Saturday--- We got up early to meet for the tour of the Academia, then my friend and I went shopping all around Venice and then took pictures at the Rialto Bridge. I bought my first real painting while I was there, even though it is little, it is BEAUTIFUL! It will look great in my kitchen at home. We then had lunch at the bridge, and then headed to the gondoles! It was such a great experience- it was a ride of an hour long, where it took us out through the whole city and then even out a little bit in the open water (that got a little rough). Our tour guide was very nice, and yes, he wore the whole outfit with the striped shirt, white collar, and hat! Did you know that Venice has over 400 bridges, no cars/mopeds, and it is known for its' murano glass? The shops were so beautiful because they all sold murano glass...they can make so many beautiful things. After the gondole ride, I went back to the hotel and rested for a bit before dinner and then Santa Margherita again. I have so much fun with my new friends.

Sunday--- We slept in a little this morning. I got up at 9:15 and took a shower. My roomies and I walked to the Rialto Bridge and looked at all the markets. I got a cup of fruit that was AMAZING, and cheap! :) Then, we went and had some soup before heading back to the hotel to laeve for Florence. We were on the bus and left at 3 and arrived in Florence aroud 7. I then went back home, wrote in my journal, and then went to dinner with some friends- NOT at Golden View! Ha! I actually had spaghetti with garlic and oil and it was the spiciest pasta I have ever had! I dont know why it was spicey, but it was still REALLY good! We then went home, hungout and went to bed!

Today I had class as usual. I went to the museum where Michaelangelo carved the David and where some of the real bronze doors from the Baptistery were. It was one of my favorite visits thus far.

Well, I will say goodbye until tomorrow! Ciao!

*SiLlY gIrL*

Ha...last night I went to the same restaurant again- Golden View. It is a guarantee full stomach when you leave, so I just get different things on the menu every time. After dinner, my roomies and I went home, talked for long time and went to bed; I was pooped from all of that walking yesterday.

This morning I had sociology and we learned about Italian families...it is a very different culture, but it was fun learning about it. Then, I had art history and we went to the Academia today where the real Michaelangelo's David is. It was sooo beautiful and the sculpture was HUGE! It showed every little detail...down to his veins. I find it so fascinating how one can create such a masterpiece like that. We got out of class really early, so we went to MCDONALDS! It was sooo good..haha! I know, how cliché...but I was tired of the same old sandwiches. It tasted pretty much the same, except for you have to pay for the sauces...oh well!

Oh, at the Academia today I saw Ricky Lake. Then, my roomie just came back and TRL is here STILL here and she saw Antonio Banderez and Cameron Diaz because they are promoting Shrek 3. I guess this is the place to be!

Well we are planning on watching the sunset and going to dinner and then a night out on the town. Then, tomorrow we leave for Venice at 8:30 am. I dont know if I will get to a computer during Venice (gone through Sunday), but if not I will definately fill you in on Monday! Love and miss you all! Ciao!

Last night I went to the same dinner place as last night, Golden View and had another amazing dinner. Then, we went to the Opera. It was in Boboli Gardens outside in wonderful outdoor theater. We had good seats and the Opera itself was amazing. They had beautiful voices...it was not over-bearing. The woman (main character) is a very famous singer from Rome.

This morning we went to Museo De Bargello for art history and we saw Donatellos' David's. It was very interesting and the sculptures are so beautiful. Then my friends and I have been walking around markets and things today. There is always a new discovery here in Florence. Tonight I am FREE! So I don't know what I am going to do, probably go out to dinner and go from there. Well I know I didn't have a lot to say today, but I will let you know how my night was tomorrow. Ben and Julie, have fun on your cruise...take lots of pictures. The rest of the family, have a great time in St. Louis! Wish I could be there. I love and miss you all. I hope this blog has been painting a picture for you. Ciao!

*HaPpY gIrL*

So last night I had the best meal I have had thus far. It is called Golden View and the restaurant over looks the river and all the bridges. It has a jazz band playing with candle-light décor. Golden view was so nice and it was perfect for my friends 21 birthday dinner. We had ten girls. You get a two course meal with the voucher, so I chose the penne 4 fromaggio con truffla crema (4 cheese) first, and then the steak for the second course. The pasta was some of the best pasta I have ever had...Lindsay would have LOVED it! Then, we went to a nice japanese-feel bar called Moyo for the night. I got home around 1 am.

Today, I had class like always. We learned about the mafia today in sociology and that was actually very interesting. Then in art history, we went to San Maria Novella Cathedral...my favorite cathedral yet. You cant take pictures or video, so I bought a post card to show. Then, we went to the Duomo. Pretty much every city has a Duomo, which means dome. It is a huge cathedral...it was the biggest in the world until 1560. After class, my two friends and I went to the market to look around for about an hour. Tonight I have the Opera like I said before...they say it will take about 2 hours...it starts at 9.

Since I dont have tons to talk about today, I thought I would fill you in on some interesting things I have observed while being in Italy: *no tax *you have to pay for restrooms *a lot of places dont have toilette seats *there is barely any water in the toilettes and then when it flushes it floods the toilette...no spinning *you have to pay to sit down at a café *they have no salad dressing (just oil and balsamic) *no butter *no alfredo *if you tip they take offense to it *mozzerella comes in a ball *no one says excuse me...so we dont say it or smile *no ice *water is served in bottles *have to ask for still water or they give you carbonated *they only have coke, coca lite, sprite, and fanta *cars are TINY- some are even one-seaters *they dont wear shorts *they wear leather boots all-year-round *they take around 3 hours for dinner, so service is normally slow *the smallest bill in euros is £5, and then the coins come in £2, £1, and then .50, .20, .05 cents *no air conditioning *people smoke cigarettes A LOT *it ir hard to find trash cans and benches *streets look like flagstone *no refills *many sidewalks can only fit one person across

Wow...that was a lot, but it is different from home. Well I will say good bye until tomorrow! Love and miss you all!

*SpEcTaCuLaR wEeKeNd*

First off...I wish I could have been there for the reunion. Sounds like you all had a lot of fun. Happy Birthday to Drew and Justin and Happy Anniversary to Grandma and Grandpa! Ryan, feel better with the tooth as well! Last, CONGRATULATIONS to Ben and Julie for their next arrival Abigail Grace! I am so excited!

So this is going to be quite long because I have not updated over the weekend. So I ended with meeting my friends to go to the outlet mall...well BAD NEWS! We went to the post office before we had to meet at the train station to meet up with the group for the outlets. I was outside looking at vendors while my friends were doing their own thing inside the post office. My friend Cheyenne runs outside, yells my name, and says her purse was stolen! She had the purse between her legs while she was waiting in the post office, and someone came behind her and snagged it from behind. We missed the outlets because we had to talk to police, etc. So after we dealt with that, I met up with my roommates and shopped at the markets here in Florence...that was a alot of fun. Then, we went to a friends apartment and 9 of us girls made chicken parmesan, pasta, and salad for dinner that night. We had an interesting time making everything! Then, we went back home and went to bed.

Saturday was Cinque Terre...the most beautiful placed my eyes have ever experienced...not kidding! The clearest water, bluest sky, and tall mountains. My foot was still hurting (long story) and I was really sick with a cold, so we went up to the fifth village called Monterosso, had lunch and then laid out on the beach the whole day. It was wonderful. The beach was not sand, but rock; we rented chairs for the day and it worked out perfectly. We left around 6 and then when we got back around 8:30, we ate at Danny Rock (American Restaurant). We had a cheeseburger and fries and it was SOOO good! By then, we were exhausted and ready to go to bed!

7:30 came early on Sunday. We went to Siena and San Gimignano. They were both places with the Italian countryside in Tuscany. It was so beautiful, and that is exactly what I pictured Italy to look like. I cant wait to show you all pictures. Then, we came home and got a panini and rested. My roommates went out for a little bit, but I was not feeling well so I chose to stay in and catch up on rest.

This morning I had class again. We went to a few beautiful cathedrals for art history. So now I am at the computer lab. We are going out tonight for my friends 21st birthday! We all have the Opera tomorrow at the Boboli Gardens. I will tell you more about that later! Love and miss you all!

*BeAuTiFuL dAy*

Today is such a better day (weather-wise) than yesterday. It hailed and thunderstormed for long time last night during late afternoon. I went to a art exhibit that was my programs photography teachers...displaying all of his work. He is a GREAT photographer.

Then we went to a really nice restaurant and I had lasagna! It was amazing...then we went back, changed into pajamas, and watch Devil Wears Prada at my friends apartment on her laptop.

This morning I had food tasting in sociology class. I will tell more later. Right now I have to meet friends to go to the outlet malls...it should be fun! I will try to write this weekend but I wont be in Florence very much! Love and miss you all!!!

Rainy Days...

Yesterday was a rainy day. For dinner yesterday, my friends and I walked around for thirty minutes trying to find this one place to eat on the map, but could never find it. So, we went to another place and it was very good Italian food. Then, we had to walk alllll the way back home because we wandered so far.

By the time we got back we were soo exhausted, we didnt end up going out because we were tired and we had tests in the morning.

Today was another early morning...8:00 am. In my sociology class today, we went on a field trip to the food market! It was so fun to see the market...we got to taste some cheese and a little meat. They have great salami! We got done with class early so my friends and I went to grab a little lunch and came back to school to study before the test and sign-up for more activites. I am going to an Italian Opera! I am so excited because it will be such a great experience.

The test today was a breeze...I was happy about that. Then my art history class went to Pitti Palace which is right by my house. It was gorgeous with paintings everywhere you turn. In one of the rooms, Rafael had 8 paintings, which is the most of his work in one room in the world! It was amazing...then we saw the queen and kings bedrooms and everything of that sort.

It is raining again today and I think it is supposed to rain this weekend, but keep your fingers crossed for me. Cinque Terre would not be as fun with rain! Tonight we will go to dinner and then go out somewhere fun...we all promised we would have a good time tonight.

Well that is it for now...talk to you soon! Love and miss you all!

Lucky Girl

I went to a Spanish reastaurant last night with some friends. It was called Salamancas. I know I am in Italy and should eat Italian food, but I am here for 5 weeks so it is ok! It was excellent and then we went to a nice Japanese bar that did tricks with fire and stuff...that was a lot of fun! Then, I have a story to tell you...

Well my friend Katherine and I were waiting for a taxi to get home...she crossed the street to see if there was a taxi coming...this guy came up to me and asked for a lighter and I said I am sorry I dont have one...right when I said that, a guy on a moped came out of nowhere and ran right into the guy running both him, the moped, and the guy on the street into a parked car...he was about 5 inches from me and he couldnt move and they had to take him away in an ambulance!!!

Lucky girl huh?

Today I had just a morning class and we went to S.S. Annuziata and then to Santa Crose Cathedral. It was so beautiful...so I recorded it with my camera so I can show you all how amazing it was.

Then after class I walked to get fresh fruit, which was right around the corner from my apartment. We are able to use a meal voucher with it so I didnt spend more money! I got peaches and plums and they are sooo good!

Tonight me and my roomies aer VIP to a live concert with DJ Epps (part of G-Unit) and MTV is here with TRL...it will be a fun night I think but I will keep you posted.

Ciao for now!

Lots of Walking

Last night for dinner me and about 9 other girls went to a Mexican restaurant here in Florence. It was very good...but the server was a little rude to us. I dont know if it was the big group or Americans...people talk about us a lot here, but I just take it with a grain of salt. After dinner, we went back to my apartment, I laid down on my bed and fell asleep in my clothes...I guess I was a little tired!!!

Another early morning today with classes. I learned about Sports in the Italian culture so of course they talked about soccer (fùtbol). We watched two movies today in class.

In my sociology class, we met at the Baptizma that has beautiful bronze doors (two out of the three are still the originals) which is next to the Duomo. Very historical places that have to do with John the Baptist and Jesus in general. Then we went in to two churches as well. So we walked all around today with my class. I am glad that I am taking this class because I know I would not do as much site seeing as I will be able to do with the class. There is also a replica statue of David. There were many gypsies around today who were asking for money and what not. We have to be careful about pick-pocketing. One came up to me and asked for money and I said "Via Via!" which means go away. I felt bad but they would not feel bad steeling my walltet...so I got over it pretty fast :)

I do not know what I am doing tonight...there are a few places that have live music we might go to. I will tell you more about that tomorrow when I update.

I am keeping up on my journal. They have such beautiful journals at vendors all around Florence as well. Florence is known for their leather so my first souvenir purchase was a £3 leather bracelet. Then, I got a pashmina (a scarf that you can also wear as a shaw), which is very poplular with women here in Italy.

Well that is it for now...thanks for writing on my blog...it is nice to hear from everyone. Love and miss you all!!!

First Day of School

Today was my first day of school...it was VERY LONG. I have class from 9:30 - 2:45 nearly everyday now and it is very hard to understand the instructors because their accent is so strong. Oh well, I will learn how to understand them. This weekend I am going to the outlets on Friday, Cinque Terre (Saturday), and Sienna (Sunday). I am really excited about all those things, especially Cinque Terre...it has 5 villages that is about an 8 mile hike and they say "it is the perfect marriage of mountain and sea." :)

I am still trying to catch up on my sleep...I find myself still quite tired. I have been eating A LOT of pizza because it is pretty cheap but every place you eat is different so it is nice.

I have some great ideas for souvenirs for everyone...I am excited to get them all.

Last night, Jill and I woke up from our nap around 9 and went on a little walk to eat some gellato (ice cream) and then got a calzone across the bridge. They were both AMAZING!

Well I will say Ciao until tomorrow...Love and Miss you all!

Sunday, June 3, 2007

Hello!!!

I am having a wonderful time here in Florence. We went to a Discotec last night and that was a lot of fun! We woke up late and walked around Florence to see all the vendors. My friend Codi is in town so we went to lunch with her and her friend Jacque. I miss everyone and I wish you all were here to see this breathtaking place! It is more than anyone could imagine. It is surreal to be here and I have not even done a lot of site seeing yet! Well I have to go! Ciao!!!

Bonjorno from Italia!!

Hey everyone--

It has been a little while since I have written on this because I have not had internet access. So this will be a little long because we need to catch up!

London---Julie I could see how you loved it there! I really liked London a lot and the feel of it. The people were somewhat rude but I got over that pretty fast. I had some fish and chips...but Long John Silvers is better :) We went on a tour to London Bridge and Buckingham Palace, etc. I must admit me and my two friends got separated from our group at the palace and we never found them...ooops! We went out both nights in London and we went to "Tiger Tiger" and "The Zoo." They both were a blast and we didnt get home until arond 3 am both nights.

Now I am in Florence, the most beautiful place ever. I cant wait to show you all the pictures and everything. My apartment is amazing...we have nine girls in it. It is about 30 seconds from my university and about two from all the bridges that connect the two sides of Florence. In my apartment we have 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, washer, two big dinner tables, a full size kitchen, a living area with coaches and t.v's. Each room is a little different but they all have a lot of storage. I have a room with a vaulted ceiling with terricotta (spelling?)wood beams. It is beautiful and it feels like home for the next 5 weeks.

Well that is it for now, we are going to go have dinner and then hit the town! Love you all and I cant wait to tell you about the trip all the time now that I have the internet access!

Ciao!
